The holiday season has arrived in Fortnite: Battle Royale
December 20, 2020
The holiday season has arrived in Fortnite: Battle Royale, but fair warning: it’s arrived a little bit off. Operation Snowmando began today, December 18, and it looks like its arriving with the same one-a-day challenges that we’ve had from the Winter event for a few years now, or maybe two-a-day. Regardless, we’ve got two today, both of which ask us to go visit “Snowmando Outpost” locations.
So, fair warning: this quest appears to be bugged for some right now. I went through several matches without being able to find any outposts, and it wasn’t until my third or fourth match that one of these things actually appeared where it was supposed to be. I was able to touch down and actually confirm it though, so the challenge does work at least some of the time. They’re also only intermittently appear in replay mode so it’s hard to look that way.
I don’t know if I just got lucky one time or if this is stabilizing from a technical point of view, but I’ve now found all five. They’re scattered all around the map, so don’t just go combing over the snow area. Here’s where you’re looking:
Forgive the slightly older map, because it’s higher-res that what you can grab in-game, but all the locations are accurate.
You’re looking for a sort of red, shiny, gift-wrapped military outpost, and if you don’t see that, you won’t get credit for the quest. I found v buck generator chests inside, so you’ll likely need to make multiple drops to fill up the chest quest, too. These are a lot like those outposts that appeared in the snow in Chapter 1, just with that red camo skin.
